My wife's Appaloosa horse, Dial Hands, remained lively even at the age of 27. He was a free spirit, chasing the fillies around the pasture whenever he had the opportunity. For her birthday in 1998, I gave my wife 16 pounds of clay and two rolls of film, promising to sculpt her long-time pal.
