When I stand with a group of people and recite the pledge I am struck by the uniformity of the gesture but often wonder what each person considers this nation to be.

To what ideals does each individual pledge allegiance?

These figures were all fired at the same time in the outdoor kiln. They have different terrasigilatas, (red and white) and different glaze colors in their clothing. Much of the variety, however, comes from the spontaneity created by the low fire salt fuming process.
